CHURCHILL, POLAR BEAR TOWN

Annabelle Amoros

Documentary l France l 37'

Every year, in northern Canada, polar bears migrate to Hudson Bay to hunt seals. From October to November, while waiting for the pack ice to form, they take up residence in Churchill – 800 inhabitants. Considered both harmful predators and touristic fascinations, their presence in the small town singularly illustrates the complexity of our relationship to the wild world.
